Failure To Appear (FTA) on your designated court date may result in a warrant being issued for your arrest and suspension of your driver’s license.

FTA Request for Reset

If you are in FTA status, you must appear at the Court in person to request the resolution of your case and receive additional instructions. 

  • Report to the Help Desk located in the lobby of the Municipal Court building at 150 Garnett St SW, Atlanta, GA 30303, Monday through Friday, 7:15 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. 
  • If you fail to appear for the FIRST TIME, you are eligible to fill out a “Failure to Appear Request for Reset” form at the Court. 
  • After the Request to Reset form is submitted, a Notice to Appear will be mailed to the address listed on your citation with your new court date and time. You may also access the Find My Case tool to view the date online.
  • Your case will not be resolved on the same day the Request to Reset form is submitted.

 

FTA Walk-in Court

The Municipal Court holds two FTA walk-in court sessions Monday – Thursday at 9:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. The sessions are available on a first come, first serve basis with a maximum capacity of 10 cases per session.  

  • To sign up for the 9:00 a.m. session, you must report to the Clerk’s Office on the main floor of the courthouse between 7:15 – 8:45 a.m.
  • To sign up for the 11:00 a.m. session, you must report to the Clerk’s Office on the main floor of the courthouse between 10:00 – 10:45 a.m.
  • Session sign-up will close when the 10-case maximum capacity has been met.
  • The FTA walk-in court session is not guaranteed to be held as unforeseen circumstances may arise. FTA walk-in court capacity or cancellation cannot be checked in advance of visiting the Clerk’s office.
  • FTA Walk-in Court cases may be resolved on the same day.
